Tether Kyocera K312 to Laptop (MetroPCS)

I was wondering if anyone is aware of how to tether a Kyocera K312 to a laptop for internet access? I am attemting to help a friend out...I have a Samsung Messeger and was able to successfully tether my phone to my desktop pc and laptop...using phone as modem. Any idea of what software I will need in order for Windows to detect device? What about mfg lock code...does anyone have that info for Kyocera K312? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If you have questions...please ask.
