Skins or themes for the K1m

anyone know where I can get new themes or skins for the K1m? I find a lot for other phones but not for mine. The few I have found I can seem to install on my phone. And have like 3-4 times as many files in the skin folder tha the stock one do? Is that normal for custom skins? Yeah...I new at this!

What kind of software is on your phone? I'm assuming you don't have Verizon or you wouldn't be skinning it.

If it has the moto UI (Telus, alltel, etc.) then you can skin it. I don't know why some skins have a lot more files than others. And I've never found much for a K1m other than this thread. These are 12 icon skins for use with a custom menu.

I use skinner4moto with the E815 plugin. I haven't found a plugin for the K1m but the E815 one works okay. All the E815 skins seem to work okay, except the fonts are a little bigger on the K1m. Get E815 skins here

Ok I got the Skinner4moto and the E815 plugin but not sure where to go next? When I try to run s4m it asks for some plugin I don't know what to do with the E815 file? It just shuts down after that. I pretty sure I'm missing something but not sure what?

It's been a while so I'd better not try to add any explanations of my own.

Just one thing to confirm before you get too far: Your phone has non-Verizon firmware, correct? The Verizon user interface cannot be skinned.

It's a Alltel phone. I have found some for it but most just freak out the phone as in Icons are half there or gone till I move over them with the up-down-left-right button.Or they just disapear entirely! Then some I can see the icon and labels but when I move down the menu they get double -worded and look blurry. And these say they are for the K1m? Out of 60 now I have still only found 3 that work ok and 1 that works perfectly!

Maybe the ones that don't work are for a K1? (that's the GSM version of the KRZR)

I've had good success, like I said, using E815 skins on my K1m (it's running Alltel firmware with a Telus upgrade). Sometimes the clock or date font will be too big and it will clip it a little, but all of the icons and menus have worked on the ones I have tried. I have thirty or more and I've only used about a dozen.

Some of the skins in the skin pack are set for 12 icons. They will have space for a fourth row of icons at the bottom of your main menu. It will just kick you back to the home screen if you go down to the blank bottom row. But they are easily re-configured for 9 icon.

If you like any of the skins from those two links, and have trouble with them, let me know which ones and I'll test them as well.
