Looking for answers for my XV6700

My old XV6700 has about had it. I have a new one ready to put into service but I thought I would ask you guys for some help so I do not mess this one up as well.

1) What case can I get so the Nav Button does not get crushed! I would like to use the extend battery I have also. This battery will of course make the phone thicker Anyone know what case will work?

2) Is there an app or some other type of short cut to let me lock the screen and buttons. I know how to use the screen lock but it is very clumsy. I was hopping some knows how to program a button to do the same thing. I would like to lock the phone with one hand without having to look.

3) May biggest problem is that the phone keeps calling my last number dialed. If I forget to lock the phone it only takes a small jar to make the phone call back. I guess this is caused by problem 1 and 2 above. But anyone have any fixes?

4) Lastly, I am beginning to use a Bluetooth headset (Plantronics 665). What I am looking for is a program or dialing app that will dial a phone number that I say into the headset. I have the Voice dialing turned on in the phone but as I understand it I can only have it dial numbers already in the phone. I am looking for an app that will let me say something like, “dial 555-1234”

It is always fun reading what you have to say. I have learned so much. I hope you have some ideas for me.

Thanks in advance for your help!

ahh. i had the 6700. it was an extremely frustrating phone. i know your pain.

1. i'm not sure what case you would want, but try to go to the verizon store and ask them. they should have something... and if not, i found a great case/envelope thing. haha it is a body glove case. i got it at walmart. try places like that, as well. try here, and here, too. those are links for the bodyglove website. the second link is for the case that i have. :] it is pretty amazing the selection that they have.

2. there is an option in your phone that you can select to lock all of the buttons/screen when you hit the power button [you know, the one on the top of the phone to turn it to screen saver mode...]. now, i have a 6800 now, but i'm pretty sure it is the exact same thing on where to go to do it.
Start Menu:
--->Settings
---->System[tab at the bottom...]
----->Key Lock
From there, it will read
when device is off:
-Lock all buttons except Power button
-Lock buttons if device is locked
-Do not lock buttons

i have the 'lock all buttons except Power button'. it pretty much does and did on my 6700 a good job of keeping my other buttons locked when my phone was 'off'. just make sure you that you hit the power button before you put it in the case/your pocket.

3. this problem should be solved by number 2. :]
4. i'm not quite sure about the apps for something like that. have you tried looking on handango? i use the apps on the windows mobile website, some are free, some are not, but i haven't looked into any to do that for my phone, because i don't use the voice dialing on my phone.

i hope i helped you out a little bit.

Thanks for the reply. I will look into the body glove idea. That may do it.

I did find the app I was looking for " Voice Command 1.6" this is great. The only problem I have with it is that when the keyboard is locked the voice command is locked also. The app is cool because from my headset I can say something like, "what time is it" and it tells me. I know that may sound lame but if I say" call Bill" it will ask me if I want the office number or the cell number.

wow! that is pretty cool. i don't use my bluetooth nearly enough. it drains my battery like it's no one's business. and i already have far too many things running on my phone to drain my battery to add one more thing to drain it. :|

i really really liked the body glove case that i got. it is relatively nice, and it stretches to fit goliath phones like ours. i used it mainly when i stashed my phone in my school bag. the books tended to push some buttons that didn't need to be pushed. haha
