Can i use my own MP3 for alarm?

I have copied the mp3 file into the phone, however it just won't show the song i want to use for alarm sound.

also, how to check the phone version?

Not sure what phone exactly you are using but I have with my 3 most recent SE phones been able to use my own mp3's as alarm sounds. w800, w910, tm506 have all been able to do it.

As far as phone version do you mean see software / firmware info and the like? If so it should be the following: >*<<*<* where < and > are directions on your dpad. Service info will show the actual phone model (ie i a c etc) and Software info will show information related to firmware version etc.

I too would like to know how to do this - should be just figuring out which folder they are in on the phone.
