I just got my new gd55 in the mail and I have a a couple of questions for everybody. Is it better to have the Auto network on or off? What's the best band - 900, 1800, 1900, 90/1800, or 900/1900? Btw, I'm in Texas. And, why does the phone say it is roaming when I'm at home and not roaming? Thanks

I don't know about the roaming question but...

In general I would keep that phone on manual just because the RF on the phone is okay not great. that way you stay locked into your system

Thanks for the advice. I have T-Mobile and therefore nationwide no roaming so I don't know why the tiangle (roaming symbol) is still in the display.

There was an explanaton for the triange being shown in a thread about Gx8x some time back. I assume its the same reason.

Can't recall the exact reason but think it was to do with where the handset was originally set up for (country).

It was said its not a problem.

You could try searching the forum but it was some time ago and was a queston from someone in Canada I think.
