Verizon Voice-mail Backdoor?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Are there any verizon backdoor numbers (for leaving a message from another phone on a different network) in the 504 or any area code? Does it work by area code or switch or does it work like t-mobile (eg everyone can use the same number)?

Slydial works but is slow, and http://www6.verizon.com/vmlookup/vmlookup.asp is rubbish.

Okay, I found the answer: after posting. The number is on the old Comverse system. So to others searching for one try a single comverse and then an anypath number from this list:

Also those of you programming the backdoors into your contacts should add a areacodePAUSEexchangePAUSEdigits, eg: 555,555,5555 or 555P555P5555. It seems verizon's voicemail system can't keep up with computer dialing or purposely tries to stop autodialers. I remember Super Mario RPG had a similar system for stopping cheaters using turbo-firing controllers.

Glad you found your answer, but why would one need to do this? What is the use? I thought you just call your own phone number put in your pin and away you go. Or, if you have youmail you can call that from any phone!

Moreover, why are people so tight with their minutes that they have to resort to cheating the system? I mean, come on.

I want to leave voice messages on others voice mail without having to engage in long-winded conversations: http://slydial.com/situations.php

You could try YouMail - and then play your voicemail on the computer for free!

I want to leave voicemail for other people without being in a conversation with them, eg: someone very long-winded. It's also useful for telling your boss that you are going be out sick, but you don't want to wake him up late at night.
