Does anyone else have this problem? Sometimes when it's by itself sitting on the counter it turns off automatically (even with a full charge)

It also happens when it's in my belt holster. two days ago, it was ringing and as soon as I flipped the case open to answer the call, poof!! it powered off.

I have checked the battery and it's on there tight. This is driving me crazy. I haven't inquired with AT&T yet.

If anyone else is having this problem or can think of something I can try please let me know .

I had the same problem... The way I stopped it is by taking a small piece of paper, folding it a few times then placing it on the sim card before replacing the battery. I hope that works for you as it did for me!

One other thing to try. Some Nokia handsets were known to have this problem, cleaning the battery contacts, both on the battery and the phone, with an eraser cured the problem.

Never got an explanation why this worked but it did.

I do have this problem before. What I did was just to upgrade my GD87's firmware and so good so far. Fingers crossed.
