Best Walkman Slider Phone Out? (sub $400)

I started with the w580i. Despite a good deal of negative reviews towards this phone, I loved it. Is the w760 the best walkman slider out at the moment? (sub $400) . I know the w995 is going to surpass it, but what would you suggest?

W715 looks great but for $600, I find the price kind of steep.

W705 looks excellent but how would you compare it against the w760. The w760 has GPS vs the Wifi on the w705.

What advantages would you say each phone has against each other?

I am finding w760's for around $200 while the w705 is going for around $300. Is the $100 price difference worth it?

you can get a G705, which is hardware wise identical to the W715, and then just flash it with W715 firmware.

How about pre-ordering W995 from mobilecityonline? I ordered it for $399.99. But I doubt they will ship at that price. They may want me to wait a year after it's release to ship it at that price :-).

the w705 direct from SE is only just over 400 !

w995 looks awesome but I generally wait a few months till after the phone is out. i'll take a look at prices of the 995 and w705. will update on any deals I find today. but is the w760 a forgetful candidate here?

My G705 is using W705 firmware at the moment with Brazzuka cam drivers. It'll soon run W715 firmware, IF Sony Ericsson releases Generic/HK firmwares for W715.

You could also look into the W995, which I believe is based on the C905.

I have someone selling a brand new w760a for $185, is that worth it?
The w760 would be a travel phone I use on trains and when I go out. Still plan on going for the w995, or w/g 705 as I am becoming some what of a phone addict.

But w760 for $185, worth it?

you'd want to flash it to W715, not W705.. G705 and W715 both have GPS while W705 does not, so you'd want to flash a G705 to W715.

thanks! I think I'll wait it out for the w995 as i locked down a deal on the w760 today. If anyone thinks this is a bad decision let me know but for 185 I think its a good deal. do you think the w995 will stay priced at 399 for long?

it will take quite some time for the W995 to be as cheap as $399! It will be $500+ for a while as it is a very feature-rich device. (if you're referring to that pre-order price, it's got to be a pricing error at such a low price.)

Yeah just noticed they are going for $529 on JR.com.

In any case, here is the lineup of my SE Phones: I would consider myself a fan!
