8260: Want solid blue/red faceplate/back, LCD, and not to bright LEDs

First post I read the FAQ and through the forums.
I want a quality cover, maybe the stock nokia blue or red...aluminum would rock too. I read some 'cheap' covers allow light to shine through, even though they are not translucent. I want to avoid that. I would like a matching back too, if possible.
I'd also like the blue or white LCD....I know LEDS can make it look that way, but what about on standby?
I want to upgrade my LED's to blue and white but I don't want them to be a flashlight
, is there a step between stock and the ultra bright LEDs?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

You can get lights installed, and have the phone re-bridged to dim them. The LED current is programmed by a resistor (one for the keypad, one for the display) and normally this value is reduced to brighten the lights - but can be increased if you'd like them dimmer. Though on the 8260, with a stock keypad, there's not much light that shines through even at best. I'd bet that if you got a set of lights installed and didn't re-bridge either way, you'd be quite happy with the result.
Any reputable cell-mod shop should be able to do the mod for you - it's pretty straightforward.

Thanks, you are right my 8260 lighting is almost too dim to even see the buttons.
I just don't want to have to send my phone back in to get them dimmed or undimmed....some of the phones I have seen (no 8260's though) are bright enough to light the room...I don't want that either

No worries with the 8260. But I could show you an old 5190 in white all around...

I figured out the blue LCD thing from other posts, polarizing sheets can do it.
Now I need to decide what color cover (red, blue, champagne, etc), if I want inverse or not and what LED colors then hope my non-GSM phone isn't outdated too soon or something just as small and simple as my 8260 doesn't come along the next day
I wish GSM was more prevalent, then I'd get the 8390 or something similar, but if I travel from West Palm Beach, there are too many areas I'd be 'dead'.
Whether it's my house, car, pc, or now phone...I don't think there is anything I leave alone that's around me

You could also just buy the inverted LCD, then you could switch at will. The actual LCD module in an 8260 is identical to those in the old series 51xx and 61xx phones. Thus you don't have to buy the 'kit' which includes the appropriate frame, or conversely you could buy a kit for a 51xx/61xx series phone and use just the LCD. Methinks that unless you can get polarizing film cheap, or buy enough film to do a number of phones, it's likely in the same order of magnitude pricewise.
Note that because of the type of LCD, the proper high-contrast film appears somewhat greenish when illuminated from behind for this phone. If you use the 'bluish' film (a-la 3390 and newer model phones) you'll likely lose some contrast (but it'll still work and will appear 'blue' in the dark areas with white LED's) High-contrast colours are oranges and reds - yellows start to get color shifting on the dark areas (for instance stock LED's look green-on-brown if you just invert the screen) And you want bright lights - the brighter the better... and note that in all cases daytime visibility is marginal and only improves if your lights are bright enough to shine through even in daylight.
Here's what a proper LCD inversion looks like on a 6160 with blue lights (this is similar to yours). White lights would look white-on-green with this style inversion, and the blue-on-blue shown doesn't have the highest contrast in the world but it's acceptable. Trying to do inverted blue on a 3390 is hopeless.
Also, here's the same LCD in red:

Blue:
6161 in BLUE with inverted screen
