Problem setting time??? HELP!!!!

I just got my gu87 phone and everytime i put in 06/14/2003 and press "ok" and it makes 2 beeping noises and returns to the date i just entered. WHY is this happening...help...i remember the sales rep telling me to not use the phone for 24 hours but i couldn't hep myself...could that the problem????

Check the date format your phone is set to. It defaults to DD/MM/YEAR i think. If its set that way, you can't enter the date as 06/14/2003 since you would be trying to set the month as 14. Just a guess, i have the same phone. I'm pretty sure I had to change the format to MM/DD/YEAR, since thats the format I prefer, as you do i assume.
