Palm Centro Data

Hello fellows,

So I have a Palm Centro that I bought on Amazon (locked to AT&T). I got the phone for free w/ a $50MIR under the agreement I would have PDA Connect for 6 months, and I did.

Fast forward about 6 months later, I'm a year into my contract and would LOVE to have data again. However, I can't afford $30/month. I now have 3 other lines on my plan, and all 4 phones have media net opt-out enabled (2 Centros, 2 Pantech Matrix). We have unlimited text, so we are eligible for the new $10/unlimited data plan.

What I want is to sign up for the $10 data plan for my Centro. I tried putting my SIM in another phone, and although it changes my device in OLAM, it won't let me sign up. I left it in the regular phone for about a day then moved it back because it kept saying not compatible.

Can anyone give me tips as to what to do?

Thanks

You cannot use the $10 plan with an AT&T branded Centro. If you want to set the $10 plan up on your account you will need to put the SIM back in the other phone and then call AT&T to get the plan added. You can then put the SIM back in the Centro and hope that AT&T don't call you on it.

See my recent update on my unbranded centro thread. Att would identify the phone as a Centro if its been branded att. My unbranded centro is not recognized.

Unfortunately my centro is branded so I guess I am up the creek without a paddle.

If I decide to buy an unbranded Centro from Palm, then I can get the cheaper data plan. That is good to know.

Thanks!
