As the title says, I need to somehow either save (to the micro sd card) or otherwise print out all the text messages that are stored in the device memory.

Thanks.

I don't know of any easy way to do it, but you could either use something like backupbuddy to backup your whole device to a memory card (there is a free one too, but it's name escapes me). That's if you're only wanting to save them in the event of a hard reset.

If you want to keep them elsewhere, forward them to your email address. You don't need a data plan for this at all, you can send emails via SMS. Just type your email address in the to field when you forward.

I don't know of a way to copy just SMS messages to your memory card. There is software for Palm OS called Print Boy or something similar that allows you to print to a relatively limited number of Bluetooth enabled printers. I wouldn't worry about it; just forward to your email address, assemble the emails in Word or something, and print them from your computer.

There is a provision for saving a limited number of text message on the SIM card. Those messages saved to the SIM card must be restored to the phone's internal memory for reading again. The only way I can think of the save all messages is to forward them to an email address you control. You can them store them on a computer. The messages would be available to you as any other email message would be. It is advised that you have an unlimited messaging plans since these forwarded messages come out of your allowance. You should delay forwarding messages while roaming internationally because they cost extra to send. You should forward them when you return home.

There is an Windows application called Treo Desktop that can do this. Just install it on the PC you hotsync your Treo to. You will need to pay the shareware fee to unlock the ability to archive the text messages though.
