To be honest... This keitai cought my eye... I think I'll consider this one too, the clean look on the keypad and the screen... Yummy! But the External Screen kinda killed it for me... The LCD should have been lowered to the earpeice instead of being too near to the hinge. I'm down for the white

The back seriously looks weird. There's this huge hump =.=

typical fujitsu, I find their designs are always the cleanest. But that bump looks wierd...but its just not my thing.

any1 bringing in F08A to spore??

I must say I'm not impressed if it weren't for the (apparent) waterproofing. It seems a bit too average for a keitai (though it still kicks the pants off anything available in America).

Posted by: stevetam

waterproofing is starting to be another of those feature that makers 'toss' in. I want to see some real stylish waterproof where you can submerge it in a pool and it would still operate.

Posted by: yangj08

Didn't they do that back with the F705i? Of course, that was a 2100/850 3G only phone, so fat lot of good that is in North America.

Posted by: stevetam

they tossed it into a tank of water. I want something with a Casio G'zone but without that severe ugliness of it

All the Japanese waterproof phones can be submerged in up to a metre of water continuously for 30 mins, they're all certified for it (Japanese spec IPX7). Not even the G'Zone keitais were certified better than this spec (they'll probably survive up to 2 metres if tried, although no doubt nobody wants to test this).

I read in k-tai watch's weekly survey section of someone answering a waterproof related question, they said they've left their phone in their pants pockets and thrown the pants in the washing machine 'several times' now, and the phone's survived each time (this is by accident of course, lol). I think it's great waterproof is becoming a standard feature.

Did anything happend to the exterior of the keitai?

well..I'm really jealous now...my nokia isn't even resistant to dust anymore -_-"

I'm actually serious...this is not a joke...thats how bad Nokia's quality is

Posted by: Chillyman

^ I wonder how good the Nokia N97 will do for the people that are wanting to get one...

Posted by: stevetam

my casing's hinges snapped of so the supposed rugged stainless steel warped... and now the famous Nokia 'sunlight' legibility is worse than 65K screen because dust is on the LCD.

n97..good quality but I think it will be flawed with build issues as well just like any other nokia. Still I think nokia has done the worst job with s60. The satio and Onmia HD's s60 looks infinitely better than the 5800XM

man..im such a sucker for purple phones ;__;

Hey guys, I'm newbie and I just bought the F-08A in Beauty Pink. I live in Canada... and I wanted to know if there is anybody that has trouble with the hypersim...
my questions are:
- does this model lose the signal occasionally?
- is there another way to regain the signal without the CPR? (I don't have another cellphone to do the cpr process... just one that works in Colombia... and my guess is the frequencies are different.
- anyone know a website where I could get cool goodies for this model? animations, wallpapers, applications, accessories.. etc?

I would appreciate any help on the matter...

Everyone will lose signal occasionally, except for SH-07A, those lucky ducks.

Posted by: stevetam

very lucky 850 GSM ducks, or even 850 3G for even luckier quails

but any1 knows an hypersim that automatically regains the signal without the need of CPRing? and that works on the F-08A

hahahha you can test for all of us. Or if someone donates me a F-08A, I'll let you know

Yet another BBS rumor, but I read a post over on Blueshow saying that Fujitsu is planning to enter the mainland China market with newer models (two to be specific, but neither the timeframe for release nor the models to be released are set in stone)... Hope this is one of them, because this one really looks nice and it's waterproof, but who knows. More importantly for people here though is that they'll have Traditional Chinese input as well as Simplified. Because Sharp seems to forget that there's plenty of people on the mainland who also text in Traditional characters.

Posted by: stevetam

..I don't know how sharp seemingly forgot about that. Also the F-09a or the elder F-01A would be a good choice going into china. (Plus then there would be 850 3G! finally rock stable signal in north america without hypersim!)
