I want to import some phone numbers into my Samsung A660. They are in an Excel file(s) with name in one column and number in the second. I have the data cable and PC studio software but have not connected them recently. It should not matter, but they were exported from another Samsung phone (not easily available). [I don't use Outlook]

PC Studio will not work with that CDMA Samsung.

Not sure what software will work with that phone to import contacts from an excel file.

Shouldn't this be a minimal standard of functionality and a normal expectation?

On the Samsung.com/us website they seem to have a USB Driver and Contacts Copier (ver. 1.1) in the Software Tab. Don't know what it does or if it can do what you are trying to do so good luck in downloading and see if it is.

It was not evident that it could do this from poking in the software. Here's a couple notes from the manual:

• contact information on A660 phone can be read and backed up to a PC as a single file (*.pbo).
• file can be restored to the phone

At Samsung, they refered me to Sprint (??) regarding this function. Someone at Sprint couldn't deal with the question and suggested I take the phone to a Sprint store. That is a good idea, but it doesn't sound promising.

Can I remind everyone that I want to copy 2 colums (name | number) into a cell phone. Wouldn't comprehension of this simple concept pre-date the physical realization of cell phones?

I was referring to "Contacts Copier". Thanks to Mango for the pointer.

I think most phones can output contacts to text. Can they import contacts from text?
