Nokia 6301 Debranding/Unlocking Questions

I'm considering trading my old w580 AT&T unlocked/debranded for my friend's new T-Mobile 6301. I'd have to debrand it and probably unlock it myself.

I've read a few 6301 debranding threads. The process doesn't seem that complicated, but I do have some questions.

Can the WiFi be used for browsing or is it for calling only?
Will the WiFi calling feature work on AT&T?
I read in one of the threads that debranding the phone will get rid of the whole WiFi feature.. It is still worth debranding..?
If my friend is unable to get an unlock code from T-Mobile, is there a free way of unlocking the phone?
On my dads N75 the alarm clock is a POS.. You can't set alarms for different days of the week and stuff... Is it better on the 6301?

if you unbrand it, then you risk the Fido Uno portion of the phone not working. I dunno bout you but I bought it for that specific reason since I do a lot of travelling and it works well on hotel wifi networks and hotspots, it saves me money. If you were looking for a phone that you can surf public wifi hotspots for free with, then im sorry i tihnk you bought the wrong phone.
