Signal/Reception for w760

Hey everyone, I was hoping you could help me out here. I have a w760 and was wondering if having 3g mode ON would make a difference in phone signal/reception in terms of when making calls, such as keeping the phone from dropping calls, etc.
Or is it only an Internet/Data thing...
Should I just keep it on GSM mode only since all I do is make phone calls and text? I don't use the internet, but was wondering if it makes a difference in having better call reception with 3g on. Thank you for any clarification.
