question regarding the legality of esn cloning in canada

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

im not asking how (xda already showed that) this is just me being curious why?
if i clone an esn of a phone i bought to another phone i bought whats the crime?
what part of canadian law am i breaking? (in the US im assuming its part of that draconian DMCA)

i realize the chances for fraud but then again on HoFo you can talk about ways to get plans like epps your not eligible for AKA fraud.

i realize its against terms of service but then on HoFo you see people talking about using things like pdanet among other things to get around no twthering on certain plans and such also against terms of service.

not trying to blur the issue if its a law thing please inform me if its a HoFo stance on morality little hypocrytical don't ya think?

thanks

I'm pretty sure it's illegal both in Canada and the US, and as such, the discussion of ESN cloning is not allowed.

I moved this from the lounge, at which point it will be up to the assigned moderator whether to allow the thread to stay open or close it back up.

its more a curiosity thing
its such a taboo to talk about here and many places and just wanna know what law makes it so

as for legitimate reasons for example breaking my touch i could make a new touch from ebay work. thats the only reason i can think of, but thats not the point.
staying on topic im not interested in why would someone want to or how to
i wanna know what law makes it illegal in canada

I cannot find anything like the FCC in Canada. That explains why it is illegal in the United States. I would imagine that it would be illegal in Canada for all of the same reasons.
