I’ve never done any animated screen savers on my cell before because I thought that you could not do it with the 8100, but all I know is that what ever you save as the screen saver, that’s what will be on the external screen.

I personally don't think you can...at least you can't on the 5300 (as I don't own the 8100 and thes ones I've played with have never had it and I have been unable to make animated stuff on the external screen).

I think it can be software/firmware enabled
i think it`s just an option in setting because wallpaper can be display on external LCD
