w580i network issues

I have a w580i purchased in hong kong from the cell phone provider "3"

however im currently in vancouver, where i am under the rogers network

the problem is that the network keeps switching from the rogers network to the rogers 3g network, which doesn't work.

ive tried deleting the rogers 3g network from the networks allowed menu and changing the "auto search networks" off but to no avail

so now whenever my phone is on the 3g network i can't receive calls and can't receive text messages

is there a way to turn off the 3g functionality

The W580i doesn't have 3G of any kind. Sort of odd you are seeing it on your phone.
