TXT Charge from Area Code 009?

On a good year, I will text maybe 12 times. Last month I get billed for 8 incoming TXT messages from area code 009. Of course there is no such area code and the Verizon rep admitted it. Although she gave me credit, she warned me that I will be charged in the future for these calls. Why? Couldn't tell me anything other that that's what will happen. She offered to block TXT. I really don't want that. Anyone know where these 009-XXX-XXXX could be coming from?
Not so shocked that Verizon feels justified in charging me for TXT's that they can't tell me where they are coming from. It's typical Verizon mentality.

Just read somewhere (after googling) that 009 is the prefix from an internet based TXT (IM, Yahoo, etc). Does this sound right? Thanks again.
Still amazed that the rep has no idea where these came from.

Yeah, it's likely that it was probably sent from somewhere online or a messenger client or something like that. The other alternative is that it was some sort of Premium SMS message from some service (like those that advertise ringtones on TV, for example).
Unfortunately it's not too surprising that more often than not you won't really get a very knowledgeable reprsentative...I guess just the unfortunate reality of things.
