Cancelling with Bell and going to Rogers, keeping number

I was with Bell for a number of years, and signed onto a 3 year contract.

The 3 year contract has since ended, and I wish to go over to Rogers, but still keep my cell phone number. How do I do this?

Is there a lag time? e.g. do I have to give one month's notice to Bell, then switch, or can it be done sooner? How do I tell Rogers about the phone number which I wish to keep?

The new carrier handles the port. Just tell Rogers your intentions. They will handle everything.

You will likely be dinged by Bell for a month's service.

just sign up with Rogers, but tell them you want to bring your cell number from Bell with you...they will process everything for you and your Bell account will be cancelled for you (so make sure your contract is done or you will get charged the ETF).

Lower your plan to the lowest possible, because when Bell closes it you will still be liable for 30 days.

Can someone point me to official (Bell website ideally?) which mentions this policy whereby porting out BEFORE your term maturity date (by as little as a day will) result in an ETF of $200?

TIA,

TIA,

Bell requires 30 days notice to cancel a contract...if you call them, and inform them of your intent to port out 30 days prior to your contract being up, they can add the PORT SOC on your profile...this means you can port out at anytime within that 30 days and you will simlpy be billed that final month, thereby completing your contract.

Incorrect advise. Proper way is to give port out notification before you see rogers then you won't pay those 30 days
