Using Motorola Software Update without losing settings

I used Motorola Software Update to update my W755. I thought that was pretty nice to be able to do it easily with no fuss and not having to use a pirated version of software, download monster packs, etc.

The main problem though is it wiped out ALL my settings...everything.

Now I want to update my wife's phone but I am wondering if there is an easy way to backup the settings, use Motorola's software, then restore the settings. Is there any software out there that will do it?

You could use RSD General to do backups/restore but then again, your back to using internal Motorola tools.
