I really want the personal organizer ability of a Blackberry type phone but can't justify the cost for personal use.

I am due to upgrade my Verizon phone and will go with something like the new touch Env or other large screen display.

My question is are there any suggestions as to how I might have some type of organizer or planner online that is secure yet I could tap into via the internet with one of these phones?

It will be a little more time consuming but if there is a decent option it would save a lot monthly.

Thanks.

The BlackBerry devices handle personal organization very well, so well, that most people find it well worth the mandatory BB data plan that Verizon charges. I used to be in the same boat as you, never thought any of it was worth it, until I actually used it. The internet, the email, the calendar, all of the functions of the device.....hard to imagine how I did it before.

So what you really want is a good calender then? I would just go to the Verizon store and ask the sales rep to let you check out a real version of the phone you are interested in and then check the calender out and see if it meets your needs. The reason I say "real phone" is because a lot of stores just have the fake display models but I was in an Alltel corporate store the other day that had functional display models that you could play around with. Maybe find a Verizon store or booth that has functional display models and just go through them until you find one with a calender that you like.

I actually never even used the calender when I had my BB activated. I just used it for web surfing and texting really.

The calendar on the BB devices is actually quite good to be honest.
