Hey all,

I'm traveling to France for business last minute so I haven't much time to be digging around.

I have an HTC touch phone with Bell and was wondering if I could use it in France.

only the samsung ace, blackberry storm and blackberry world edition will work....your best bet is to buy a prepaid cell there, cheap and will keep you in contact with whoever

Descended is right. Roaming charges would be astronomical. I always recommend to anybody traveling to Europe to pick up a cheap throw away PayGo phone when there. Service and hardware are very inexpensive in europe compared to here.

Example.. I was in the UK.. bought a prepaid phone for 20 pounds (42$ here at the time) and I bought 10 pounds worth of credit.. and that lasted me 2 weeks .. enough to even txt back and forth home - get in touch with my local friends to make plans.. etc etc.

Following summer... took the iphone overseas.. and receied 260$ roaming bill. because I knew I had my phone with my i didint think twice about using it.. it was right there.. so yeah..

BUY A PREPAID PHONE !

that is the best bet, provided you don't need a data device...for example, if you take your BB overseas, you won't have access to your emails or anything on it unless you pay the roaming costs for it.

Sucks that I can't use my Touch but glad I have an alternative.

So I guess I'll just pick up a phone when I arrive there on Sunday? Any tips/tricks to getting it done?
