Mobile email and internet email "From" name

Greetings all, First posting here: When I send an email through my computer, the recipient sees my nickname in the "From" window but when I send an email via mobile, they see my full name in the "From" line.
I prefer my nickname. I've asked Verizonwireless and at 1st pass, they could not solve however they are researching.
Without success, I've checked at my server site and the phone doesn't seem to have an option to do this. I also called Yahoo or AT&T support for my email account but they referred me to VW. Do any of you an idea how or if I can accomplish this? Thanks,

What are you using to send an email (both on the computer and on the phone)?

I'm using Outlook for the computer and the Verizonwireless mobile for the 9700. Both tie into my Yahoo account. Thanks, -Ed

Outlook (full version) does allow me to specify my nickname under the "From" heading. Again, when I send a email from the phone, it picks up my full name. Verizon wireless has opened a support ticket however no word yet.

What exactly are you referring to when you say "Verizon wireless mobile for the 9700"? Is that in reference to using the Mobile Email application on the LG Dare, or is it something else? If it's the Mobile Email application, when you were setting up access to your Yahoo! Mail account, did you specify a name to use there? Or did you specify a name to use on your actual Yahoo! Mail account (if you simply access it directly through a browser on a computer using Yahoo! Mail's web site)?

When I registered for email notifications on my phone, (Mobile email app) I used my exsisting Yahoo account. There wasn't an opportunity to specify a user name when composing emails from the phone. I'm assuming that it's accessing directly to the browser site acct. I've check my settings on my actual Yahoo mail account and have experimented by changing my personal settings pertaining to my name but with no effect to the phone based emails. When I contacted Yahoo Mail tech support they said that it was a Verizon based setting.
Thanks C DM, I may just have to live with this.
