send photo from phone to phone? (newbie)

I have photos in my phone I'd like to send to a friends phone.
Both phones are the same, (RAZR) & we are both on the same network, (rogers).
We are not in bluetooth range, (100miles apart.)

I tried the MMS service. Does that send the photo to a website?
Must the person recieving the photo's goto a website with thier phones browser to recieve the photos?

Not only am I a newbie at this, I'm old, so be gentle.. :-)

If you send it as an MMS, it should go directly to the device. I have heard of some providers limiting the size of the file that you want to send. If you have internet, you could try emailing it to your friend.

The cheapest way would be sending by bluetooth, but since you're unable to do that.. The next alternative would be MMS or picture messaging.
I think Rogers charges $0.50 a message if your value pack doesn't include MMS.

On your razr, go to Messaging > Create Message > New Multimedia Msg.
From here you can add text like a normal SMS/text message and then press the Menu key, select Insert and pick from the following options.
Since you wanted to share a picture, select Picture and it will bring up available images stored on your phone.
After selecting the picture you'd like to share, you need to select the recipient, do so and then Send.

If you plan on sending a lot of photos, I'd suggest subscribing to a Value Pack which covers your wireless needs.

thanks, I sent via mms & it worked, sort-of.
The person recieving the pic just got a link to a website, not the pic itself.
Is that normal?

I don't ever remember sending or receiving MMS' while using my razr. But I believe it was common to receive a link if under one of the setting was set to Knot automatically download MMS'..
Something along those lines.

When your friend sends you a message, is it also a link or the actual picture?

My friend hasn't tried to send yet. Is less teky than me. lol We'll have to check that. I'll also look to see if I can find a setting that says "don't automatically download MMS" or something similar..

have a look under,

Messaging > 'Menu key' > Inbox setup > MMS Message setup > Receiving MMS > Home Download > change to "automatic" if it's on "always ask"..

I hope that does the trick.. but I don't know for sure..
