Have questions about HSPA network/tower gear?

I've been invited to go check out some of the new HSPA gear that Bell is using in Ontario and if any of you had some questions about it I will be more than merry to ask the technicians on your behalf.

Things I already know
1) Most of the gear is Huawei if you did not already know that.
2) Woodstock, Ontario has already been fully upgraded to HSPA and will gives general download speeds of 5mbps down with burst speeds up to 7mbps.

A couple of questions:

1. What will be the dominating frequency used? Will they rollout more 850Mhz or 1900Mhz?

2. There've been many reports from customers on several different wireless HSPA carriers around the world indicating that their devices frequently drop down to 2G EDGE/GPRS, even when 3G coverage/signal is maxed. For example, it happens with both Rogers and AT&T and a few European carriers show similar behavior. This is most likely a capacity issue but I wonder how the Bellus network will handle such issues with no 2G to fall back on? Do the technicians have any idea as to what the capacity will be on this new HSPA network? Is this behavior simply the nature of HSPA technology?

Thanks!

When can we see the transition in Toronto and Vancouver?
Will current Bell World Phones be able to use the GSM part of the phone to access the networks? Will it work and give us 3G signal? Will they be using the compatible spectrum?

So what did you get to see?

Did you get to check out the nifty NSN antannae blocks they're using?
Put one of those up to your head and you'll see pretty colours for weeks... hehehe...

Haven't gone out yet.

Still finding a date that works with me as well as the engineer.

It will happen before the end of the summer.
