Opening a new Bell account

Alright, so I need to open a new Bell account and I'm having trouble finding a reasonable plan. I've called into the Direct Sales CSRs a couple of time with mixed results. They can't even seem to remember all of the plans offered on their web site nevermind anything extra. I'm not looking for anything too super just enough to match my Rogers plan in a similar price range.

In the retentions thread I've seen people talkign about offers to new customers.. but is there someone special at Bell I should be calling for this?

Thanks!

We'd need to know your Rogers plan before we can suggest anything.

Is it for one or two phones?

One phone line - I'm planning on getting the BB Tour (and hopefully getting the gsm unlocked so I can toss in a Rogers SIM for my other line)...

On Rogers my current plan is:
750 daytime minutes
Unlimited Incoming
International Text Message Plan (250msgs/mnth)
1000min CDN Long Distance
500Mb Data (Blackberry)
Unlimted txt/mms
Enhanced Voicemail/CallerID/Call forwarding

All for about $98/month (after fees/tax)

Whenever I travel to the States I also put on a US LD Bucket of minutes (for another $40) but I don't need that just at the moment.

Any suggestions? (and thanks for the help it's greatly appreciated)

Can't seem to edit my post..but the plan has to work with the 867 (NWT) area code.. so it can't be one of those Toronto-only specials

i don't think Bell sells service up there...you may need to check with Lattitude Wireless.

also, what is it about Rogers that you are thinking of making the switch...a lot of people always look at price, but seem to forget that there is much more to the service as a whole than just the price...also, i don't think you will be able to use a Rogers SIM in a Bell phone.

Bell has 867 service in NWT.

Bell serves the NWT... And, I couldn't care a less about the price (well so long as it's a similar range) but Bell at least has reasonable service up North and things like caller ID (Which the local GSM provider doesn't have).

You can unlock the CDMA Storms to work with any GSM SIM and so I'm assuming you will be able to unlock the Tours as well.. but if not, not a terribly big deal.

I wouldn't be switching if there was another reasonable option..

The Storm was unlockable but it was a little more difficult
I assume Tour will be same (as the innards are the same)
