UTStarcom Shuttle ringtones

I have the shuttle for Virgin Mobile and I have several ringtones on my phone, some from friends others from online, how can I set these as my ringtone? Do I need to change the file format from .MP3 to something else? please help. Thank you in advance.

vm uses a protection of some sort on their ringtones so you can't just add your own sounds and such. if you could find some way to emulate the protection then it could probably work.

yep, i've tried everything. at one point, phonezoo actually worked with VM. But nothing has worked...
