I am a total newbie. First off I have a sanyo scp-3100 that has started to go intermittent after so many drops. A friend of mine has a cingular treo750 laying around that I would rather use. Is there any way to unlock the treo750 so that it can accept the sprint service that I already use? The sanyo doesnt have a sim card but the treo does, will this be a problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The short answer is that it will never, ever work in any way possible. It cannot be done, there are no tricks or unlocking that will make it work. Sprint uses a different technology than the Treo he has.

there are many phones you can put on Sprint that you can get very cheaply... less than $20 easy...

and given the age of your 3100, you must be due for an upgrade rebate... so you should have many choices for alternatives for your failing 3100...

if you're really interested in something like the Treo, the Centro is the obvious thing to get... either "unencumbered" for around $50-60 or with a renewed contract for $50. Or perhaps the new Sanyo SCP-2700 for $20...
