N95 complete housing replacement help

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

this was my original problem but i included it incase anyone else had the same issue:
Quote:
i just bought a new housing set (in black) to replace my plum case since its banged up badly

anyhow it comes with new number pad/ sliding plate with lcd etc

so as my title says how do i remove the plate that the lcd sits on and switch it with a new one?

because the circuit board sits on it and it has a strip that goes from the sliding plate into the bottom case of the phone

also to get the number pad out it looks like i have to disassemble the bottom of the case as well (not just remove the cover) as the screw tops are blocked

i looked at the tips pages and tutorials but there doesnt seem to be one that explains this and i couldnt find it using the search (but i think my search terms might be odd)

so if anyone could help thanks

i would have given up this goal to switch the sliding plate except that i snapped one of the corners that holds a screw to my original housing :/

this is what happened

I figured it out, there were 2 screws next to the battery that needed to be taken out and then you can take the phone apart, the strip that connects from the bottom board to the sliding plate just simply unplugs and then you can switch the plates (however the plate that the lcd rests on has a circuit board thats glued to the plate in 3 spots that you can carefully peel off)

This is my new problem

I am having another problem now though, the housing piece with the mini-usb plug and the charger plug, when you take it off theres a circuit strip attached to it that you also have to peel off it looks like its connected to the accelerometer in some way.

But the issue is that between the mini-usb and the battery charger there seems to be a connection? of some sort that is encased in the housing with 2 copper connectors that touches the circuit board... i dont know what its for and im unable to even pry it out of the housing anyone know what its for? or how to get it out?
