Samsung Instinct Browser Lockout

I've done some searching on the forums and haven't been able to find a solution but please do direct me to the right thread if someone has already answered this question before.. One of the people in my office has an Instinct and when she got it from Bell, the rep asked her if she did much browsing on her phone and she said no. At that point he "did some stuff" to the phone and now the browser is essentially disabled. Does anybody have any idea as to either a) what the rep could have done to disable the browser of b) what to try in terms of settings to try and get it up and running?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

What happens when she tries to launch the browser ?

She can get the browser up but it's just a blank white screen and if you try to navigate to an address it just chugs away and then comes up with an error message (I can recreate it when she gets back from lunch to give you the exact error message but it essentially tries to connect to the network and resolve the url and fails.

When she tries to go to a web page it shows that it is trying to transfer data/connect to the network and then a message box comes up and says "connection failed" ::edit:: When you try to check the movie listings, news, weather, etc. (the other web apps except for Youtube which launches the browser) you get the data usage warning message and then when you go past that it says "Error 7000:Internal server error. Please try again."

Thanks again Xander99

it is possible that the account may have Broswer service disabled...or perhaps the browser settings have been wiped...keep in mind, if she doesn't have the "Unlimited Mobile Browser" feature on her account, "playing around" with it gets very expensive, very quickly...basically, unless she intends of spending $10/month for Unlimited Browser, tell her not to bother with it...it is quite possible the place she bought it from wiped the setting because they were sick of people "playing" with it and getting a $2000 phone bill...and no, i am not exaggerating...if you download a song from the music store, and don't have the $10/month feature, it will cost you about $60 in data charges...you can imagine the mess when the son or daughter see a few songs they like and fill up a playlist with 40 songs in a couple of days.

Thanks dirtyjeffer!

based on the information I'm getting from her she does have "unlimited mobile browser" but it's sounding more and more like the agent helping her put a data block on the phone likely with her best interests and his sanity in mind. Unless one of the bell reps on here is willing to walk me through it I think the best bet is for her to go back to the store she got the phone from and ask him to remove the block.

Thanks for the speedy help!
