Is it possible to get a single line in a package to have a data plan on it?

My phone is the primary phone in my families nationwide plan, and I'd like it to be the only phone to get data.

Sure. Do you have a feature phone? If so, at least for now, you can simply add V CAST VPak (a feature) to your line and have unlimited data on your line. Alternatively, you can set your line to be on the Connect or Premium plan (while the rest of the family shareplan lines can simply be on Select if they don't need data) and that would do it too. If on the other hand you have a PDA/BB phone, well, then you probably already have, or at least should have, a separate appropriate data feature on your line only.
