Sanyo SCP5300-Best HEADSET?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi folks!

What is the best (wired, I guess, as this phone doesn't support Bluetooth, at least not natively) HEADSET for this model Sanyo?

For example, I see that the Sprint PCS Accessories store (see:
http://www.sprintpcsaccessories.com...y.jsp?prod=1332 ) includes models from Body Glove and Jabra (and I've heard reports that the Jabra does NOT work well with this phone) and the Sanyo site (see:
https://store.sanyousa.com/osb/show...ge/2/startrow/6)
lists the Body Glove Earglove Pro and Earglove Mini.

Anyone tried these/are they any good, in terms of sound quality? Does Sanyo itself make any headsets for this phone?

TIA!

/g

PS. And how does one check what version of the firmware/software the phone is using, to see if I have the latest version of same (with the 'volume fix') on my phone?

I prefer to visit the Sprint Store. They sometimes have lower prices around holidays and they haven't given me any problems with returns in 14 days. I first bought 2 hands-free earbuts listed for $19.99 in your first link. Mine worked fine for three months. I switched to the more expensive SCP-05BGP ($29,95). I then got a problem with the phone connection. Everytime the plug moved (walking, driving etc.) I couldn't hear anything. I had to push it back in the phone to hear something. I got another SCP-05BGP headset but had the same problem. I exchanged the phone and tried again. The connection was no problem anymore. I could hear better, but the surrounding was too loud for the other party. That doesn't work in airports where they announce flights every few minutes. We had to stop the conversation untill the announcement finished. I exchanged it to the cheaper headset (instore $14.99) I started with. One month later, I'm still happy with my earbut. It's good enough for me. My wife has still her original earbut and never had any problems with it.

I've always used Plantronics. Over the head with boom mic which isn't really for outdoor use, but all their other headsets work equally well. Spendy compared to some but you get what you pay for with their equipment.

The model I use was around $45 and can either be worn over the head or converted to over the ear. Boom mic.

I like the headset I picked up last night at office depot. Clearanced to $2.02. The kind with an earbud and hanging mic. Mute button too. Sounds real clear.
