K7 Rave for Virgin Mobile, unlock possibilities?

I'm sort of new to the whole unlocking of CDMA phones from one network to another, so I appologize for any upfront ignorance. I have a phone still in original packaging with the ESN number on it.
Phone: K7 Rave Kyocera for Virgin Mobile
which I believe is a CDMA network, right on the package it says the phone cannot be activated until purchased at the register.
Question #1:
Is there a way to check whether the ESN is whitelisted/blacklisted...
Question #2:
I've spoke with a few companies that advertise being able to flash CDMA phones, but when I say it's a Virgin Mobile they tell me they are unable to do so because they don't have the codes to unlock it, so I guess my question is it possible to unlock this phone?
Question #3:
Assuming the phone can be unlocked, what networks/carriers are willing to accept a unlocked CDMA phone?
Thanks for any help in advance...

CDMA phones are not "unlocked" really, they just are generally not compatible with other CDMA carriers networks. While yes, some minor carriers (cricket basically) will accept pretty much any CDMA phone (although i don't know if they will take virgin mobile phones) but only calling and texting will work.

but if you have some knowledge and experience, you may program and write your own settings.
