Do i need the snap dialer software to do this ? I have the sprint connection manager software already! please post with opinions/facts. Also can i download free screen savers/ringtones/ect anywhere on the web ? web sites would be helpful. Also is the connection speed descent with the use of the 5300 + laptop ? |

Originally posted by ewod I never actually had the sanyo 5300, but from what I read about it I don't like it and the phone being 400 dollars makes me feel even more that way...the only good thing about the phone is the camera from what I hear...a lot of people have complained about its earpiece being kinda low and hard to hear even at its highest setting...the sanyo 8100 is basically the same phone, but with a less cooler camera and a way louder earpiece... |

Originally posted by Paradox As stated in another forum, the latest software update seems to fix the low volume problem, mine is so loud at times, i HAVE to lower it. The camera is a bit better then the 8100 and the flash does make a difference for indoor shots. The screen on the 5300 is ALOT bigger than the 8100, and trust me you will get used to it. That's what makes it a little bigger, but not by much. And if you were to hold and use both phones, you can tell the 5300 is a bit more solidly built. It just depends on what you have as a spending limit to work with, and how bad you really want one more than the other. Either way, you're getting a great phone. |

Originally posted by ewod I just don't like the size of the 5300...I say for 400 bucks it's a complete ripoff...I seen the size of the 5300 and it's much bigger than the 8100 in my opinion...I'm not saying the sanyo 8100 is better than the sanyo 5300 because of its size, but size does matter if you plan on keeping the phone in your pocket when you go out...

Originally posted by Paradox I would agree with you that for $400 it's alot of money, but I say the 8100 is alot for $200 so... The original poster said he paid $300, I'm assumign he got the $100 off as a new customer. For $300 I feel it's a good phone, but to each's own. Actually if you look at the specs, the 8100 is thicker than the 5300 where the 5300 is taller than the 8100. Would something like 4/10ths" matter to me, no but that's me. Let's end this and say everyone likes what they like haha. As for the flash, I'm no expert photographer either... I know on my regular camera the flash matters inside for daytime shots if it is a bit overcast, but i dont think this litle flash matter much for that. It's probably suited best for indoor dark or outdoor night and if the object is relatively close like 3 feet... |

Originally posted by Paradox Everyone likes something different and everyone has their own opinions about each phone... I got my 5300, from a sprint store, for $249 with a holster and CLA thrown in. The 8100 still would have been $99. If I had to do it again, i'd still go with the 5300 to have the bigger screen, a more solidly built phone, and flash when I need it. I say if you like the 8100 there isnt anything wrong with that. I'm agreeing with you that the 8100 is also a great phone for $99, it's just not my preference. Wanna keep this up all day?
