MPT: ujsupported device

I'm looking for help for my daughter. She just acquired a used Motorola Razr V3 from a friend and would like to install MPT (Motorola Phone Tools) V5.07 on computer to sync with the phone. When she connects phone to PC, it says 'phone not supported'. She did run Live Update to no avail. Her carrier is AT&T. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
