Rachael will be announced on 3rd November.

Yep saw this. Don't know how to feel about it. Just another Android phone. We will see.

I don't think it will be 'just another Android phone'. I think SE have really pushed the boat out on this one and they know themselves they need a high profile powerful consumer smartphone to attract the masses, not just the business market.

if the leaked brochure is anything to go buy this could be a nice phone.

http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericss...m-news-1207.php

4.1 inch oled capacitive
8.1 MP camera
1 Ghz cpu snapdragon
32 gb internal memory plus room for expansion

SE always announces their phones early..
the question is, when will do they plan to release it? Nov of next year?

Posted by: scotsboyuk

January next year.

An X10 brochure has been leaked with some more details, not the least of which is the confirmation of the name X10.

I started a thread in the android forum also about this. This specs on this phone are awesome. Hopefully AT&T or T-mobile can pick this phone up. More T-mobile because the android handsets they have now are...well...sort of pathetic compared to what Verizon is rolling out with in the next few weeks

I really really hope this phone ends up being as good as it sounds like it could be. This will definitely bring me back to SE and make me forgive them for the failure (IMO) that is the Satio.

I hope they add a cool Sony Ericsson twist to the Android OS. SE always had great operating systems on their phones.

Thats what I thought - and Rachel's styling is so bland to match that sentiment. But the same could be said about iPhone 3GS (and the others) - its to not take away from the device usage by the owner.

Lets see:
1. Social contact syncing is native to Android 2.0 and done elequently so Moto's Blurr looks like a horrible mashup mess.

2. Multiple syncing with GMail and Exchange accounts!
- but I DON'T like the unified messaging/email client though. I cannot STAND this conversation like view in SMS - I want to delete specific messages from a person NOT an entire list or what is called a conversation. I hate this on my iPhone, and I HATE this on every device coming out. Who was the ******* that thought of this as being better!??

3. 8MP camera seems to be proven with quality pictures and videos; not like the hype that came with the K850i over the K790/K800. (I still like the K850i for some reason; just didn't over great gaming or powerful calendar features/functionality)

I'm more interested to see if SE brings PlayNow out to the world more; not just a few countries. If they wait too soon for this - they'll loose huge market potential and capital = profits; which they desperately need.

Nice find though I'm still more excited about the messaging part and the fact that it's going to be Android 2.0...

Posted by: scotsboyuk

Where did you hear that it would be 2.0?

Posted by: szlevi

It was released few days ago - no way in hell SE will release something in January with 1.6, three months after 2.0 came out.

You can delete individual messages on the iPhone without deleting the thread btw. Just tap Edit on the top right when in the thread view.

It supports T-mobile 3G! Granted the test model they had was a little laggy, hopefully this BEAST will be released stateside, fine tuned...and not a wallet breaker

the first thing i always look for in a phone is the battery life..
i hope this one is as better than the Satio..
although i read somewhere, that the batterylife of this phone is not as great as well...
