Upgrading from Storm

I want to upgrade my current phone, a BB Storm to the new Droid phone coming out Nov. 6th.

Question is, is there a way I can get the 2year pricing for the Droid now (when it is released)? I am the primary line on a Family Share plan with 3 other lines (secondary lines are all upgrading). My line isn't eligible for discounted pricing until 07/21/10 and not eligible for the annual upgrade until 11/21/09.

I assume that there are other Storm users out there who got their phones around the same time I did that are upgrading to either the Droid or Storm 2, now, are you able to get the discounted pricing?

Any suggestions?

Nope, probably not going to happen. I've pleaded with 2 corporate stores, a Best Buy, MyWireless and I've talked to a couple reps at 611. Verizon sticks to their guns. When they say no eligibility until a certain date, they mean it. If you get it though, let me know your secret.

Actually, I would like to know why Storm users feel they are entitled to special services?? I can understand the frustrations with the Storm 2 (barely though)...but now bringing up the Droid into it? People are morons to think Verizon will upgrade them to a Droid because they bought a phone that is almost a year old that doesn't perform to their own personal standards...

You should definitely be able to get it on 11/21/2009, as for getting it earlier, you can try contacting VZW about it, but it's not all that likely that they would move the date up (although it's been known to happen).

Alright, I will contact them and see if they can bump me up 2 weeks.

I know I have gotten a few upgrade early mailers, one was the week before the Storm launch and anther a few months into 09. I was just hoping they would send me another one for the Droid.

I'm in the same boat. I got my storm on release. They have confirmed for me the 11/21/09 date. Of course I would be extending my agreement 2 years out.

I asked about 11/6/09 for the Droid and they said no go and no exceptions. I'm not playing the "Storm users need something special" angle. My thought is instead of extending me 2 years, extend me two years and 2 weeks. I am happy and I don't see what the difference is to them. They still have me locked up for two years from 11/21/09.

There's nothing in their system to do something like extending for an odd amount of time like 2 years and 2 weeks.

Just a quick update. I called the customer service number today and was able to get my annual upgrade date moved up, so I will have my Droid tomorrow.
