Bell SIM on Locked/Unlocked Rogers iPhone?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I was just wondering would a Bell sim work on both unlocked or locked rogers Iphones? if does does everything work in the phone, 3g, 2g wifi etc?

Unlocked only. Only thing that won't work is EDGE. 3G and WiFi will be fine, but you'll have to do some configurations.

could I just bring the Iphone to a bell store and have them set it up for me ? Or if i have to deal with it myself what kinds of things would be required?

Technically you have to do it yourself.

But I'm sure the Bell store will help you as long as they know what they are doing.

Also, it works perfect, I haven't found a single issue myself.

I highly doubt a Bell store is going to blacksn0w unlock your Rogers iPhone.
google 'blackra1n' for further info on jailbreaking and unlocking.

I can manage to get the Iphone unlocked through an outside source. But just wanted to know if the Bell store could set up my settings so that the phone would work under there specifications.

But other then the Bell store, how would I go about setting up the unlocked Iphone to run Bell settings etc.

Sorry im quite new to this.

thank you for those that have replied you guys are a lot of help.

With the experience I went through today, I really doubt Bell has policies in place to "help" existing customers with phones that wasn't purchased from them.

I think there are carrier specific wireless settings like APN to tinker with. I'd have no idea what to put in unless Bell helps me with it. Once again I wonder why I signed up with Bell in the first place...

I just found a past thread with some information about this. Basically linking to the Bell website. Yeah I'm surprised too...

Bell will give you the APN settings (or iTunes will install them automatically)

Bell won't help you unlock the iPhone, or any other device.

Go to http://blackra1n.com/ to jailbreak/unlock.
