does anyone know if the sl55 will be available through any service provider in the US? i've decided to get one, but before i shell out the four bucks for one of these, if it is going to be available through a s/p, discounted through a contract, then i might just hold off a bit.

Cingular will be releasing the North American version which is the SL56.

okay, now let me know if my train of thought is flawed in anyway.

breaking contract, $150, cost of sl56 with two contract around 299 or so..... so getting a sl55 for 450 is not bad deal.

will the sl56 have any advantages over the sl55?

and also, when is cingular going to release the sl56? thanks

There is no set release date for the SL56 yet it is being tested by Cingular right now. The SL55 and 56 are similar the major difference is that the 56 will be 850/1900 where as the 55 is a tri band world fone.
