I am considering purchasing the Kyocera 2325 with Verizon or the Kyocera 2255 with Virgin Mobile. which uses the Sprint network. If anyone has experience with either phone, I would appreciate your comments. I live in northern New Jersey. Thanks.

I don't know anything about the Kyocera 2255, but I do have a 2325 on the Verizon network I think totally rocks. Ok, I've seen mention on some forums that the 2325 is pretty basic, but considering I upgraded from a standard Tracfone Nokia, this thing to me is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
If you want to get to the very basics meaning call quality, it's supurb! This thing does a far better job than my Nokia ever did, the quality is outstanding. You shouldn't have any complaints there.
Now beyond the basics. The 2325 comes with a schuduler, calculator and tip calculator, stop watch, count down timer, and a few games with Tetris being the only game worth mentioning. However the feature I think is the coolest on this phone is voice tag dialing, but the coolest part of the voice tag dialing is if it doesn't hear the name you speak into it properly, it will take it's best guess and ask you if it is correct. If it doesn't guess correctly after 3 times it gives up, but usually it gets it with in 3 guesses.
Some people would say that the 2325 is pretty basic, but for someone who's upgrading from another network like Tracfone, this phone is way beyond basic. Ever since getting this thing, I just can't put it down, I'm having a ball with it.

Thanks, Phoenixfury, for your reply. From what I have read and heard, the Verizon network, at least in the Northeast, is superior to Sprint. Based upon your comments on the Kyocera 2325, I will visit the nearest Radio Shack and get the Verizon package with this phone. I now have a Nokia 282IP with Tracfone, and it a piece of junk. Whenever and wherever I place a call, I get dead air. Can't wait to get rid of this phone and use the 2325. Thanks again for your helpful comments.

You are very welcome! I went to Kyocera's site and did a little research on the Kyocera 2255. From what I gather it is a very similar phone to the 2325 except it doesn't have the games, or the emergency 911 GPS system. So really they are both comparable phones, so really it all boils down to which network you want, and if GPS 911 is important to you.

The phones are indeed very similar, so it boils down mostly to what kind of service you want. Don't just look at the coverage, but what you are paying for that service (unless you're a rich ******* who doesn't care).
One downside to Virgin's 2255 is their games suck. However their service is great and the rates are the best of all prepaid.
Of course, you could have already bought the phone and I'm just wasting my breath.

The 2255 is actually the sister phone to the 2235... The 2325 is the updated version of the 2235. So the 2325 is a much newer phone and one of the major problems with the 22xx series was the screen... I had a 2235 on which the screen went out and would constantly blank. Later hardware revisions fixed the problem, but there's no guarantee the ones that VM are using are the fixed ones.

I've been using a 2325 since it came out and so far it's the only Verizon phone that I haven't had any problems with. The infamous LCD problem with the 2235 seems to be have been fixed in the 2325. It may be a basic phone, but in my opinion outperforms some of the more flashier phones. Call quality is great as are reception and battery life. And you can send ringtones to the 2325 using vtext.com.
