if I unlock the phone I can use it on any of the networks ie on the avaialable spectrum???

if the cell phone os unlockek I can do what??? choosea proviedr but it iwll work on other networks?

It will let you use a SIM card of a different provider than the one that sold you the phone.

It also will allow you to sell your phone when you are ready to upgrade (Since the buyer would not be limited to your network).

You can contact any of the advertisers in the MarketPlace forum including LVWireless and they'll be happy to do it for you.

If you had T-Mobile (I see you have Cingular), then they could do it for you for free.
