Where is is the time auto update setting on p800?

OK, I feel like I am losing my mind... I could have sworn that I had the option to autoupdate the time/date on my p800, but now I can't find the page with the setting. Can someone help me out? I just recently sent my phone to SE for upgrading, so maybe the feature was there, and now is not...?

I now have the following:

Phone: CXC162002 R2D
Bluetooth: CXC12529 R5A
Organizer: CXC162001 R2B03
CDA: CDA162001/6 R4A02

Any help would be appreciated.

You mean it auto updates the time and date when u connect the P800 with a PC??

That option would show on the COMPUTER when you have your phone connected with the PC, and right click the P800 icon on the taskbar and hit Properties and check/uncheck "Synchronize phone date and time with PC date and time each time the phone is connected to the PC."

Would this be the answer for you??

No, actually, this was an option on the phone in addition to the one that you mention. The one I am looking for (which was there on my phone before), has to do with updating the time from the GSM network.

I think this is a network dependent feature. I.e., the carrier must support that function. Meaning, if you are T-Mobile east, and fly to California, the Cingular/T-Mo network there will ask to update your time (to local PST), because that carrier supports that function. However, on the return to T-Mobile east, you will not get the option to update the time again to EST, because T-Mo east apparently does not support the update function. I travel extensively, and have found that very few carriers worlswide support this feature. Too bad.

It works for me. I flew from SFO to JFK last month, and got the update time message when I got to JFK. On the way back I went via Chicago. It didn't reset the time there, but did when I got back to San Francisco. Maybe it works with west coast T-Mo sims ?

I've not seen this work on any network abroad that I've been to in Europe or Asia so far, but it's a nice feature. Now if T-mobile would have cell info/broadcast that would be nice.

I can't find any mention of network time update in the manual. I don't believe this feature is supported. I am on R1D.

yah i got R1D, so maybe i don't have that feature. what firmware release do u have?

It was on my T39. Its in Time Settings - Auto Time Zone on that phone.

oh. ok, yah that is the reason why you were able to have the time auto updated. so far in the p800, there is no option to select to have the time updated automatically.
