it is getting frustrating....i love the phone and features, but the RF is making it hard to make calls.....i drop calls soo many times, and even if i am standing next to a tower, the RF meter is still one click less than full strength....in order to make a call, i need at least the one big and one small click on the RF meter.....if i have only the one big click, i cant make a call, and even with the one big and one small, i still have issues.....the one big and two small clicks is perfect reception......is it possible that the RF can be increased with a new firmware upgrade in the future?????

Anyone here want to answer this.
I am going to Boston in fall and I am in love with SL55.
But I want to make sure it does not have RF problem.

Did you try the phone with T-mobile?
It might be the network problem?

Need some help here.

believe me, i dont want to rag on the phone becuz i love everything else about it, but the RF is definitely not as good as my 5100 or 7210 was.....sure, Tmobile and ATT GSM reception is not up to par with Verizon in this area, but i am only comparing the RF to my other phones....it is not the network.....i drop many calls daily, and when i put my SIM in my 5100, i do not drop calls in the same areas that i just dropped calls in the SL55.....i am just hoping a firmware upgrade in the future can do something about it and until then, i will only use it in good reception areas.......also, even if i stand within sight of a cell tower, i still do not have full strength on the SL55 RF meter.....

This phone is for my girlfriend and she is really pissed when you got drop calls. but she like the SL55 too.

What a pain.
Do you by chance have any experience in Cambridge area? (because she is attending MIT this coming fall. (S&P grad housing if you know)

yes, experience in Harvard Square quite often in the shopping area.....i have great reception (with 5100), but marginal once i went inside stores....havent tried the SL55 there yet.....
