Need to get something straight w/ the GD88

Ok, I just got my GD88 unlocked yesterday and whenever I try and open the browser it , it says reception failed. I ordered a serial unlocking/flashing cable off ebay just now and should be expecting it soon. I got the following questions

1) Does the A22 work on the GD88 ? not just on the GD87
2) Upon flashing my phone with the A22 firmware , will I get Chinese input and menu support for sure ?
3) Is there any way to fix my browser ?
4) What exactly do I need to flash the A22 ? I got WinMoDo, the GD87A22 flash file. Where can I download CB2000 ?

1) Yes it will. The actual hardware is identical.
2) Only if you use a Chinese language pack and enable the correct languages in CB2000. To do this, your EEPROM needs to
be unlocked.
3) If you have CB2K, then you can try doing "Function clear" - this will often fix browser problems (but also deletes all your user settings and WAP/MMS profiles)
4) It's posted in several places - try this link (it was OK this morning):

I don't know - if you look in the archive, the file you want is called "GCD87L94.rel" - the file "G1D87L94.rel" is one with western european languages (you probably have this file)

Recently, I 've purchase an unlocked GU87(At&t). But when I press *#9999#, it shows

0C79GAD87A22-22
LPM-00052

Question:

1. Does this mean I have A22 Firmware?
2. If I want to upgrade to A39, do I need to Flash it with A22 again?
3. Right now, I have Browser problem. It keep on saying "Reception Failed". Will flashing it with A39 Fix my problem?
4. Also, everytime I go to MMS Server List, the phone restart itself. I'm confused...

I'm Sorry if I have some stupid question, coz I'm new at this flashing thing. Thank you in advance...

Answer:

1. Yes...you have A22 FW
2. You don't need to reflash your GU with A22. Just flash it to A39
3. A39 won't fix the problem...I think you should check your T-zone settings again...try checking here
4. The answer is here

It's possible that your setup data is corrupt - try using CB2000 to do a function clear/memory reset on the phone. This will delete all your user settings and WAP/MMS server settings and set them to defaults. This should let you get into the setup menu to enter the MMS server information.

The other thing that can cause this is if the phone has been reflashed so that the main firmware and the translation data version on the language pack don't match, it may crash when trying to access some menu items. If you have only reflashed part of your phone (firmware only, or LP only) then this is worth checking. In particular, you originally had a translation data version of 00052 - and most of the A22 LPs that are on the net are for translation data 00094. This could cause this sort of problem. If you suspect that this might be the case, then reflash the phone with a matched pair of firmware and language and see if the problem goes away.

Do I need to do the covered pin 4&10 with the CB2k after i'm flashing the phone with A22..?? Or I can just go on flashing the phone with A39 then the CB2K...?? Thank you in advance everybody...

I just insulate the pins and leave them that way. This seems to work correctly for WinMoDo, CB2000 and the unlocker.
