did you use the correct email? I sent out
many already...

anyway...(2) for $10 shipped is what I am looking for...
still have one dozen left....

No idea what your email is, but I sent you messages (or email, don't remember) via here (HowardForums). I'd get one from you but I already purchased one myself. Cheers.

Posted by: H.L.

I never check PM or message in here...oh well...

Thanks, H.L.!
I received my covers in the mail today! and they fit great!
now I don't have to worry about putting my phone in my pocket!

how did you get so many of them anyway?
did you buy them from HK?

Posted by: H.L.

thanks for the reply...
hope you figure out how to trim the bottom out, so you can
recharge the phone.

all my friends S40 have brutal screen scratching and degraded keypads, a plastic cover can avoid that.

it is hard to find S40 plastic covers without ugly belt clips now, so
I bought a small box of it and shipped to here

hmm... too bad my screen already has alot of fine scratches on it.
nothing too deep, but you can see them if you look at it on an angle. I wonder if there is anyway to get rid of those.

like using some kind of polish or something?

Posted by: mawti

Do a search of this forum. I few months back, we had a thread with all sorts of tips on that.

Posted by: H.L.

other than getting a plastic cover..
I bought a glass polisher from HK...looks like tooth paste...

it just applies some on the screen and use soft clothes to rub on it like wax...it will go away...

Posted by: Fluffydot

wow, that is exatly what I need, can it describe it a little more?
like the brand name or something?
I will look around to see if they sell it here...

i never liked cases for phones so i found another solution of keeping your screen scratch-free. you know that thin, clear plactic stuff they put on like screens-like you might have found it on your digital clock or the face of a watch-that plastic you lick and it sticks to glass. those who know what im talking about, good for you. anyway, i had some, licked it, stuck on the screen and cut to size with a razorblade. you dont even notice it if your able to get all the bubbles out. its not hard to peel off but i dont see it coming off unless you try. so in your pocket, it should be fine.

As far as keeping the screen scratch free, I use two things in case some of you might wish to do so too:

1. If your screen already has a few scratches on it, you might want to get DISPLEX - a screen polish/scratch-remover that's specifically made for cellphone displays. Glass polish might remove more than is necessary. Absolutely adorable. Do a search for it - many online retailers carry it already.

2. Someone else posted this months ago but I'll say it anyway. Once you get rid of the scratches on your screen, lay down a piece of clear packaging tape on it and carefully start from one side, "ironing" out the bubbles as you move accross the screen to avoid getting air underneath. You'll probably have to try more than once to get it right. The edges of the screen have a slight recess where a sharp cutter blade will slide through so you can cut the excess right off. Just be careful not to shoot past the corners or you muck up the faceplate. Once the tape is laid down without bubbles, you won't even know it's there.

I know a couple of you guys mentioned putting down tape or other plastic on the screen. If you want to do it the high end way you can buy what are called WriteRights they are made for PDAs and come in different sizes (for different size PDA screens). They are nice I have them for my iPaq. They are however kind of expensive, a 12 pack (1 a month for a year) sells for $25.

I think I'm going to cut one of them to the right size and give it a try.

yes i know about the write-rights but don't those films have a somewhat "raised" texture to them? i remember seeing one on my friend's pda and the rough texture on it also diminishes the visibility of the display underneath though not that much. as i understand it, that rough finish is supposed to give your stylus the feel of a pencil writing on paper. using it may or may not be a good idea - anyhow, just let us know what it's like.

I just got one of those plastic covers from H.L. Fits like a glove - love it! Much better than the holster I used to have for the S40. Thanks dude!

I purchased two (2) cases from Lawrence on Saturday. The cases are excellent. They are the perfect accessory to showcase the natural beauty of the S40.

Also, Lawrence was a very curteous and agreeable individual to deal with.

I have no qualms whatsoever in this transaction, only praise.
