Here's an excerpt from a My-Symbian thread...

"I just received my replacement phone from orange as my last one was damaged; I had to wait for a while as they were awaiting a new shipment of p800’s
The phone has been slightly modified from my previous version. The camera lens appears further back, the jog dial looks and feels different, the key flip now clicks into place when closed and feels more stable, which are positive changes, one thing which has changed and is really annoying me though is the back cover! It now has plastic lines all over the inside of it, I guess this is to make it more stable, but now my spare duo wont fit under the battery cover! I’m not sure where to keep it now, anyone having a similar problem with this new battery cover?"

I got a new P800 from Expansys US two weeks ago and this sounds like my unit also. Visually it doesn't really look any different than all the pictures I've seen. But the flip does spring closed very tightly. Once I let it flop closed by itself (rather than hold it until it was almost closed) and it showed the number as being pressed on the screen. The inside of the battery cover does have lots of large horizonal lines. This is the first P800 I've had or seen though, so I can't really comment on comparisons to earlier units.

One other thing that I noticed on my Grey P800 is that the browser button is now not blue but there is a "@" on it...

My P800 I got about a month ago now has always had a click closing feeling flip, horizontal lines on battery cover, I can't comment on the jog dial except for the fact that I love it's 5-way, and same with the camera lense, can't comment on that.

Here are some pics of my Mineral Grey P800 cover with the new style. Personally, I prefer this one much better than the old one, much stronger built. I also like the click in on the flip.
I don't really feel any diff for the jog dial and the camera lens tho.

sorry about the cam quality, it's taken by a T616 (bluetooth transfer is much easier than my canon digi cam's CF card. I could've used a P800, but i don't want the battery to drop out when i take the pics

)
