S40 Logo Question

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I figured out how to change the logo using Viewer, just import a bmp and then clear out the greeting. Simple enough, but where can I find these .bin files you have as an option? Also, what are the attributes of this file type? I'm sure I can make one easy enough if I knew something about it.

THANKS.

The .bin file is the native S40 image format. Since it's not very common you won't find any of them anywhere. But you can produce them with the Viewer.
The format is described in my S40 proprietary AT command reference. Download here:

Awesome, kind of confusing but I think after I get into it I can figure it out.

Do you have a .bin you can send me as an example?

Just produce one yourself with the viewer (Export..., file type *.bin).

Awesome, thanks.

I'll try it when I get the chance.

What program should I use to open that .bin file?

Where can I find bmps that fit the S40 requirements?

I'm having a bit of trouble makig some that look good, what are the RGB values for the 4 colors?

Thanks

Good question. One that doesn't eat control characters (ASCII < 32) or one that only displays ASCII values, not the characters themselves. You won't be able to directly display these files as images and edit them.

You'll have to create them yourself. Use any sophisticated drawing program and specify size and colour depth.

Hm, no idea.

I've made some startup-logos for S40: http://www.club-siemens.com/logos/s40-logos.shtml

Feel free to send me a logo request by mail if someone wants a special logo and I'll do my best to make it

Now finally I have something to guage my own creations against. I needed something to use as a color set.
