secure browsing with Opera?

How secure is Opera on the P800? Specifically, can anyone comment on its suitability for online banking?
I can log onto my bank website and I get the padlock icon showing a secure connection. What I want to know is, is this as secure as a "wired" connection using, say, IE6? (I know, anything made by MS is being hacked at constantly.)
Any risks specific to GPRS connection? Or known weaknesses in Opera?
